Alecia Machholz was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She received her bachelors degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2008 where she played on the Women's Tennis Team and was captain in '07 and '08.
She and her husband Drew met on the Metro State tennis courts and they have been teaching and sharing their love of tennis to others ever since then. Alecia has taught all over the country from Denver to Chicago, Dallas, Colorado Springs, and Charlotte at junior tennis academies, country clubs, and large corporate tennis clubs.
When Alecia and Drew are not on the courts, they are with their 1yr old daughter, Addalyn, "Addy" and their fur babies, Walker and Dos, playing outside in the sand or walking and biking around the neighborhood.
Drew and Alecia have been married for 10 years and have their baby girl Addy, who is their future tennis star.
Before joining the MatchPoint Team Drew was the Tennis Manager at the Charlotte Life Time Athletic Club. Drew has taught tennis for over a decade in North Carolina, Colorado and Texas.
When not on the court he enjoys riding his One wheel and being active outdoors. Drew is a PTR Professional and a Cardio Tennis certified instructor. Drew has a passion for sharing tennis from beginners to players trying to make it on tour.
Tim Barnes is a high energy pro that enjoys being on the court with everyone and has been teaching on 30A for almost 10 years.
Tim honed his craft with Peter Burwash International traveling around the world training and implementing programs. Tim was one of the pioneers of Cardio Tennis and you can see his great skills in all of his drills.
When Tim is not sharing his passion for tennis he enjoys driving around and listening to the soothing hum of the road.
Brian Veillette has over 40 years of experience teaching, directing and playing as a professional. Brian played #1 singles at Ohio University and earned career high #4 ranking in the BIG 10 and MAC conferences.
He spent much of his 20s playing in Europe on the ATP Tour earning a world ranking in singles and doubles. He has coached such juniors as Michael Russell, Amy Frazier and Susie Mascarin. He was a hitting partner with professionals like Chris Evert and Aaron Krickstein when called on.
He currently is at WaterColor Tennis working with some of the top juniors in the South, specializing in private and hitting lessons.
Adrien has played, covered and coached at professional circuit events all around the globe. He has enjoyed a 26 year career as Head Pro/Tennis Director at two historic clubs in the Bay Area, and in Dallas, Texas.
Adrien is a contributing editor at TennisPlayer.net -- the top tennis instructional site in the world, according to Forbes. He coaches elite players, customizes frames for college and tour players, and serves as teacher tester for the USRSA's Master Racquet Technician program.
He has been fortunate enough to conduct tennis events with some of the foremost names in tennis, including Venus Williams, Mats Wilander, and John McEnroe.
His wife and family are all tennis fans. In 2001, the couple honeymooned in Paris (it just happened to be during Roland Garros).
A board member of the award-winning Texas division of the USPTA, Adrien serves as the liaison to the national office of the USPTA Foundation, the PTA's fundraising arm for great causes like Acing Autism, the Mardy Fish Foundation, and various tennis-related disaster relief efforts.
He is most proud of his vintage racquet collection which dates back to 1905, thanks to his father, grandfather, and great grandfather's love for tennis.
Hobbies include art, broadcasting, and writing about music, comedy, sports, and vintage automobiles.
Born and raised in Libertyville, Illinois, Susan has taught, coached, and played tennis in many different parts of the country as well as abroad in Europe and in the West Indies. She was a former NCAA Division I college tennis player at the University of Iowa and is a USPTA Certified Elite Tennis Professional.
Shane has 30 years of experience in the sports industry, from coaching to managing tennis resorts and sport facilities nationwide. He is a two-time college All-American tennis player and has held rankings as high as 6th in the Nation during his athletic career. He is frequently mistaken for Agassi....because of his quick movement (why, what were you thinking?).
Malcolm is a USPTA Elite Professional Tennis Coach and Northern California Division Pro of the Year (2003). He has 18 yrs experience, and was former Head Pro at Donner Tennis Club as well as ranked as one of the Top 100 ski instructors in North America by SKI Magazine (2004). A Top Staff Trainer/Privates Instructor Northstar@Tahoe Ski Resort, Malcolm has 15 yrs experience ski teaching. As impressive as he is as a skier, his wife makes him look like a beginner!
Tara reached her highest individual ranking on the WTA Tour finishing #33 in the world. She won the silver medal at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Canada, and claimed her first WTA title in Quebec (are you sensing a Canadian connection?). Tara played for several World Team Tennis teams including the St. Louis Aces, Kansas City Explorers and Texas Wild. Her wins include Maria Sharapova, Martina Hingis and Marion Bartoli but her real claim to fame is winning one of the longest tiebreakers in WTA history (21-19). However, her husband loves to remind her he was still ranked higher than she was. :)
Born in Durban, South Africa, Brent reached his career-high ranking of 29th in the world in doubles, has won eight ATP Doubles titles and reached the quarter finals of Wimbledon and the US Open. Also, Brent was the coach of the Texas Wild, World Team Tennis team and has worked with several players who have achieved success on the ATP and WTA tour. In addition, many of his students have become successful collegiate players. Brent is one of the owners of the Irving Tennis Classic, a professional ATP challenger event held annually in Dallas. When not on the court he is always up to play a round of golf which suites his easygoing, pleasant mannered personality.
