Tara reached her highest individual ranking on the WTA Tour finishing #33 in the world. She won the silver medal at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Canada, and claimed her first WTA title in Quebec (are you sensing a Canadian connection?). Tara played for several World Team Tennis teams including the St. Louis Aces, Kansas City Explorers and Texas Wild. Her wins include Maria Sharapova, Martina Hingis and Marion Bartoli but her real claim to fame is winning one of the longest tiebreakers in WTA history (21-19). However, her husband loves to remind her he was still ranked higher than she was. 🙂
